Owner Jim Fisher is known by most to live, eat, and sleep bicycles!  He is actively competitive in Michigan cross country mountain bike racing.

A family man first, Jim is a lifelong Islander.  He grew up here and knows practically every square inch of this State Park we get to call home.

Not one to make hasty decisions, Jim had thought about this for quite some time.  Finally in 2004 he’d decided that Mackinac Island needed a higher quality alternative to what was currently available.

His admirable work ethic along with an upbringing that taught him to do the right thing (at any cost) was a good start.  Jim’s plan to differentiate his business from the rest was to start with great quality bikes for rent and for sale, add a top-notch repair shop and a well-stocked store with fair pricing.  This has been a winning combination since  opening day.

We welcome you to a clean, friendly environment. Mackinac Wheels is staffed by year-round residents that know well the Island that awaits you!
